22nd April 2022 - 17th Annual Rotary Golf Challenge.
Hosted by Princes Golf Club in Sandwich, 77 players took up the challenge of the windy conditions on the day, this was a great test of the players skills. The competition was played on age Shore and Himalaya's courses, both of which were in excellent condition.
The competition was a 2 ball, better ball, Stapelford, in teams of four as pairs with a combined 3/4 handicap. There were prizes for the winners and runners up.
There was two par three holes on each course with fantastic prizes for a hole in one. One prize was for £10,000 cash prize, unfortunately the wind did its job, no player achieved a hole in one. Maybe next year, watch this space.
There was also a prize for nearest the line, the main team prize was the coveted Claret jug, plus a crystal cut glass decanter for each of the winners. The runners up received a pair of crystal cut glass drinking glasses. The highest individual score of the day received a new trophy which was presented in Hounoye of past President David Gates (deceased) and was presented by his wife Jenny Gates.

Following the golf the players were joined by their wives and partners, plus other special guests for a two course meal in the clubhouse plus a charity auction. The auction as always was to raise money for the Presidents chosen charities for there year plus other deserving local charities.
